About the Family of SADOYA

The origin of the name SADOYA dates back to fifteenth century.
Approximately five hundred years ago, our progenitor who was an geologist and an minting engineer relocated from SADO Island to KOFU under request by TAKEDA NOBUTORA, father of legendary SAMURAI warrior TAKEDA SHINGEN.
The family of SADOYA since then served in developing goldmines in Yamanashi region.
After serving TAKEDA Family as distinguished funder and warrior, they served TOKUGAWA regime as local officials and also opened a minting company, similar to bank at current days, in Kofu.
When the second shogun, TOKUGAWA HIDETADA moved the minting facility to EDO(Tokyo), the family paid homage to its origin and named their business SADOYA and remain the same to this day.
The family changed business as generations went by, however still confident with the forefather’s spirit to serve our community.
